A fun day Sunday we had here at Bend and Snap Market last weekend. We missed all of you market lovers since our last market day in May (catch up on our last market day with the blog post here, wishlists and haikus here and all of the may market day photos here).
After a little winter solstice break, we emerged from cold snow domes with our July market to present an extravaganza of art design fashion vintage all all round fun timez. We were sated with sweetness with treats from SPOONFULS OF LOVE, BONNIE BIX QUALITY SHORTBREADS and WAFFELIER. We had FACE PAINTING ARTIST Renee painting faces with a colourful twist. We had a superb range of secondhand and vintage fashions from a neat selection of RAG TRADE stall holders. And a pop up nail bar courtesy of CRITTER CLAWS. See more photos from our July market day here.
We were spoilt for choice with a vast range of delish art and design and all kinds of things to tickle your mind with shibori textiles by BIND I FOLD, the team from THE CANARY PRESS with their freshly pressed first edition, new creations and creatures by THE CREATURE WORKSHOP and DREAMING CO. ♧, treasured heirlooms from FORGET ME NOT ENGRAVING, floral lust with a pop up florist courtesy of FOXGLOVE BOTANICALS, cross-stitches and wordplay with THE GIRL AND HER NIGHTINGALE, hand made jewellery by HELEN FLEUR DESIGNS, embracing heritage craft techniques with JACKIE MADE THIS, finding strong and vibrant little marshmallows in JULIE’S LITTLE WORLD, mineral love with JUX, delish delights from ME-U, a cornucopia of craft from the MELBOURNE ALT CRAFTERS, all things fabric and handcrafted with PRECIOUS LITTLE SAKURA, perfect pops of colour from SCATTERED ANTS, owl plushies and cheeky embroidery by SCRABBLE KITTY, handcrafted homewares by STEF COLLECTIONS and getting high on a magnetic nostalgiafest with UNFAZED & CONFUZED.
We were also thrilled to have the entire Joining Forces Collective hosting a collaborative drawing corner with the inimitable Jeffrey Phillips making pretty and personalised calligraphy for lovers of words, the talented Rhiannon Thomas and her handmade eye necklaces, Gemma Flack and her clever illustration lady merchandise and Brendan Ninness, Sebastian Berto and Zahra Zainal creating DAZZLING exquisite corpses with all of the deliciously discerning market folk. We are also proud as punch to see that the Joining Forces Collective have been selected to have their fantastical art work plastered over the art trams running throughout this town for the Melbourne Festival in October this year.
We have had some gorgeous interviews with many of our darling stall holders over the past few months. Be sure to make a little time to have a read of these inspiration filled interviews with a selection of our favourite artists and designers:
