We make socks for you to wear,
Barnaby, hell yeah

Tell us a little about the origins of Barnaby.
Barnaby was started by three Melbournians who just wanted good quality socks that lasted more than a couple washes. We couldn’t find any so we made our own with cool designs and also added our own twist to them (the button).

Describe your creative process.
A lot of our inspiration comes from graphic design and architecture. We are constantly scanning through magazines, books and blogs picking up colour combos and designs we see all the time – sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t.

What inspires you the most?
Patterns, designs and colours that we think are cool. Inspiration can come from anywhere and sometimes when you least expect it.  We try to be innovative as well and come up with ideas that will differentiate our socks from others out there.

Name some of your most favourite local artists and designers.
Bailey Nelson – Check them out if you are after a new pair of spectacles.
P Johnson – For the best tailoring in town.
Delord Cycling – They make some really cool cycling kits with awesome colourways.

What are your ultimate dreams for Barnaby?
A locally and globally recognised brand that uses a socially and environmentally transparent business model.
