Crop tops and shoulder pads.
Totally radical dude.
Fluro and tie dye.

Tell us a little about the origins of Radcat Bandits.
Radcat Bandits is a result of my addiction to 80s & 90s fashion. People would comment on my outfits and I knew I had a business idea on my hands. I hand select pieces from all over Melbourne and Sydney and had the opportunity to do a buying trip in Japan.

Describe your creative process.
Erratic and chaos! Carrying a notepad at all times and jotting down thoughts and ideas. Constantly collecting inspiration via Instagram and Pinterest.

What inspires you the most?
Street Fashion, Japanese fashion and the Spice Girls.

Name some of your most favourite local artists and designers.

What are your ultimate dreams for Radcat Bandits?
To open a little boutique store stocking vintage 80s and 90s gear along with some of my own designs and have 90s pop playing all day long!

Jewellery from the minimalist to the straight up science to the more mystical with A PASSAGE OF TIME, ARTOMIC ART, INDOVINO JEWELLERY, OH DAKOTA and a special jewellery project from Narrelle M Harris, the esteemed author behind KITTY & CADAVER – A fictional band facing a zombie apocalypse devouring Melbourne and “raising rock ‘n’ roll hell to exorcise the dead!”. Yuka, Kitty and Cadaver‘s angry heavy metal Japanese drummer, wears jewellery made of the salvaged remnants of instruments destroyed when her first band accidentally summoned a demon and everyone but her was killed. Narrelle has collaborated with a number of local artists to create unique jewellery assembled with salvaged remnants of instruments.

And a treasure trove of vintage clothing by APPLIQUE VINTAGE & RADCAT BANDITS.

In addition to celebrating the work of the local art and design community and our regard for shopping locally, we are proud be featuring a number of our philanthropic stall holders utilising their creations to give back to the community, for instance:

ARTOMIC ART – jewellery sourced the coolest scientific pictures discovered by various science students and researchers and created to raise awareness of such important research.

A portion of their proceeds is donated back into research towards the sourced image – for example, the Midnight Magic Cufflinks, these stainless steel cufflinks are made using an image produced during research into schizophrenia (image courtesy of Candace Wu (researcher at The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health), for each purchase of the Midnight Magic Cufflinks, a portion of the profits will be donated to mental health research. http://www.etsy.com/au/listing/206216550/midnight-magic-cufflinks

APPLIQUE VINTAGE
Personalised vintage & pre-loved second hand clothing.

The Applique Vintage team, following their commitment to act sustainably, have launched their new  initiative THE BIG CLOTHING DRIVE where they will collect your unwanted items which will then be sorted, and those that are of a high quality and suit the Applique Vintage style, will be sold in our store. The rest will be donated to charities including the Brotherhood of St Lawrence and the Red Cross. Then, next month they will be starting their monetary donation project, where 50% of all sales from your donations will be donated to a charity of your choice.

INDOVINO JEWELLERY
Melbourne based jewellery brand, creating unique pieces artfully hand-crafted from 92.5 sterling silver, 18ct gold plating & adorned with semiprecious gemstones, sourced from around the world.  Each piece is purposefully designed with a high level of thoughtfulness and detail, and each crystal is carefully hand-picked, ensuring every piece is truly ‘one of a kind’.

Indovino Jewellery aims to use art and jewellery to bring greater awareness to the Water Crisis that is happening all over the world in Africa, South East Asia and Latin America. A portion of every sale will be donated to Charity Water – a charity dedicated to bringing clean water and sanitation to people in less developing countries.
