Tell us a little about yourself using a Haiku.
It’s all about the feeling
For you to enjoy
Tell us a little about the origins of KatRelish.
As a side project, I use KatRelish to really release my creativity. I am literally meditating as I am making things. I love to find interesting functional pieces to make and offer. I am open to all project ideas and love a good collaboration or swap!
Describe your creative process.
I literally find time and just do! I like to use materials that I already have and see where that leads me.
What inspires you the most?
Talking to people that are also passionate about creative processes. I am inspired by other peoples passion and by what they create.
Name some of your favourite local artists and designers.
Oh, RockPaperSilver! What a great jeweller! Also ceramics by NomadObjCo. are amazing. Shabana Jacobsons jewellery is neverendingly (is that a word?) inspirational.
What are your ultimate dreams for KatRelish?
I hope to be able to find more time to create and realise my ideas within the studio. I don’t want to put pressure on it and make it into my full time job, but a 50/50 split eventually of graphic design (which is my full time job) and hands on object making would be perfect!
What will we find from KatRelish at our July Bend and Snap Market?
I have created a range of ring, necklaces and earrings as well as some functional pieces such as cocktails stirrers and cheese knives!
